If you want to be successful online there are certain things you need to do and there are certain ways you have to do them. I'm not going to plaster all those cliches you've probably heard a thousand times already, like it's a relationship business and yadda, yadda, yadda.
If you've been on the Internet longer than one month trying to build your business, than I'm guessing you've already figured that much out.
Tool #1 - Special ebook, How to Investigate Home Businesses (Free download).
Choose a legitimate business. None of those cash-gifting scams or businesses where you have to look over your shoulder to see if the feds are coming to take you to jail. Be smart and you'll never (least likely) to become a victim of a scam or a perpetrator of one.
Tool #2 - Lead Capture and autoresponder service to build your list.
It goes without saying that you need to build an asset, your list. Companies go out of business all the time, there's nothing new there. Which is why you need to look out for your best interest and build a subscriber list of people who do have an interest in network marketing in some form or another. If heaven forbid your company goes under, you will not have to start from scratch as long as you have a list of people you can email about your new company.
Your lead capture page should do a good job of branding you and how you can help people or at the very least do a good job enticing your prospects to opt-in (give up their name and email) to you.
Your emails, in which you will have to write (unless you use a system [see below]), should do a good job giving value to your prospects. Like all the big time earners in internet marketing, you'll want to monetize your list. See tool #3 below.

Lead Capture page - unless you have the skills and the copywriting skills to build a website, I suggest you use a proven lead capture page at this point or hire a website designer that specialize in creating lead capture pages for network marketers. Autoresponder - I suggest either Aweber or Get Response
Tool #3 - Monetizing your list with affiliate programs. Hotly contested and debated, using a funded proposal in network marketing is still frowned upon by some. Mainly by those who feel guilty asking their prospects for money.
Look, your prospects are going to buy programs and services regardless whether or not they get it from you. Doesn't it make sense that if you're the one doing all the work helping them with tips and giving out value based resources that they spend that money with you? Of course it does.
Find products your prospects are interested in and from time to time recommend them to your list. Again if you're not sure what kind of products or how to recommend products, you'll want to look at an mlm marketing system that has some affiliate programs already built in. More on that later.
Tool #4 - Internet marketing training. It's not a question of if you need training but when. You weren't born with Internet marketing skills and learning it in bits and pieces all over the net is not only quite time consuming but makes it really difficult to put all the pieces together coherently so that it makes sense to you as a marketer.
